I've been transfixed by the living room in Andy & Andrew's Vintage Modern house tour all week. I'm completely in love with the look of this home! And while the couple have decorated their home with thrift store and flea market finds, presumably over a stretch of time and with a great deal of patience, I've rounded up a list of brand new products for achieving a similar look in a fraction of the time.
You have two options if you want to achieve the casual look of Andy & Andrew's Vintage Modern home. You can spend some time perusing Craigslist, ebay and flea markets to gradually pick up vintage pieces similar to ones seen in the couple's living room. Or you can cut to the chase, whip out the credit card, and buy new.

1. The Crate & Barrel Petrie sofa is a dead ringer for the one seen in Andy and Andrew's apartment. With its boxy shape and tufted back, the Petrie sofa will remain a design classic, making it a little easier to swallow the $1700 price tag. If that's out of your price range and you still want to buy new, similarly shaped sofas can be found — such as the Karlstad from IKEA and the Night and Day at Urban Outfitters, both of which are around $600.
2. Framed maps are a classic decorating touch. While the map above Andy and Andrew's sofa is undoubtedly vintage, this map from etsy seller VassiSlavova is vintage styled — plus, you can have it personalized.
3. Yes, I know, the chances that you are going to buy a toboggan sled merely to display in your home are pretty slim. Still, I love the casual look of the sled leaning against the wall in this home. New sleds from Mountain Boy Sledworks range in price from $24.99 to $99.99 and can actually be used for more than display. Pull it outside on a snowy day and use it for its intended purpose and you'll instantly feel like a kid again!
4. The Kennedy Chair from Thrive Home Furnishings is a perfect example of a new take on the vintage chairs seen in Andy and Andrew's home. Again, if the $899 price tag for the Kennedy Chair is out of reach, check out IKEA or similar discount retailers for a similarly shaped chair.
5. Andy and Andrew's vintage coffee table is similar to this Nelson Style Black Wooden Bench, available from Amazon for $230. One great thing about using a bench as a coffee table is that it can double as extra seating in a pinch. You can also check ebay and Craigslist for surfboard shaped coffee tables, which would also work well in this space and layout.

The Petrie sofa is nice - but if you want the exact sofa in that photo, it's Macy's Corona which I purchased on sale for $600 a couple of years ago. It's been a great sofa and I love it.

I'm waiting for a little kid to poke his eye out on that Kennedy Chair.
The Kennedy Chair is a knockoff of the "Z" chair, designed by Poul Jensen (Denmark) in the early 60s. You might be able to find one for a lot less than $899 if you are patient and know where to look.
Every map in the apartment is vintage... except that one. It's actually just a road map we found on a random trip to a Barnes and Noble in the suburbs a few years back. The framing make it look fancier than it actually is. I guess you never know where you're going to find something you love!
I dunno - its really fun to buy vintage. Plus, you can sell it for (usually) what you bought it for - or more. To be honest, its hard to give "new" stuff away. Try to resell a Macy's sofa on Craigslist and see who comes to get it. When buying vintage, you can always trade stuff out. Over the course of a year, we found lots of vintage pieces for our house and its been fun. Sofas are more challenging than chairs, storage, and tables. Curious - Does anyone own the Night & Day sofa from UO? Comfort level? Quality? Seems like a great deal for a dual use sofa.
So- The actual sofa pictured in this photo is from Macy's. I have the same one myself- and it's $1000 cheaper than the Petrie.
It's super comfy, nice and long, and is wearing really well.
I agree with Protorio. Chairs are much easier to find than sofas. I lucked out and scored a vinyl cushion with wood frame Heywood Wakefield sofa on CL for $40! However, I'm 6ft tall and the sofa is about 5 and a half. Not the most comfortable thing to lie down on anyway. I just purchased the Sullivan sofa from Thrive. Should arrive in a few weeks. Cost about $950 on sale but I'm sick and tired of not having a comfy yet stylish couch. I'm keeping the Heywood though to put somewhere else ;)
Ha! We just had a 70's AAA roadmap framed for our dining room. Now spending extra for archival museum glass for something I found in my grandpa's trash doesn't seem so dumb.
The Macy's Corona is getting discontinued. I wanted it, but wanted to sit in one before ordering online and the Macy's near me didn't have it so I went with another Macy's sofa that isn't quite as modern of a shape. Not contemporary, but not quite as modern as I wanted and I just couldn't justify the cost of a SWR or Crate and Barrel sofa for my apartment.
