Now that you've got your white bedding and your comforter, it's time to accessorize. A fur blanket thrown across a bed looks so cozy and inviting — perfect for Sunday afternoon naps! While some faux fur throws look a little too, well, fake, we've found a selection that are pretty close to the real deal.

Shaw's Original Fir...
We received the restoration hardware throw as a housewarming gift. It looks great over the back of our sofa and we can't get the cats off of it.
We have two Restoration Hardware fur throws (not the big blanket). Very plush. Our dog loves to snuggle on our (his) throw in the winter.
For all of you thrifty folks out there, here's a budget option for a faux fur rug or throw: Go to a fabric store like Joann's, and you can buy a 1 yard X 2 yard piece of faux fur fabric for about 12 bucks (with the online coupon). I recently bought a faux sheepskin fabric, and a faux black/light brown fur fabric that I'm using as a rug. My store had about 4 or 5 nice different colored "furs". They cut it nice and straight for you, and the fabric is so "furry" that you can actually get away with using as a rug, or a throw for a chair, w/o even hemming or sewing it (although, if you're a sewer, that would look even more legit). Obviously, not as luxe as the ones listed above, but snuggly and furry nonetheless :)
I got a faux mink throw at TJ Maxx. I think you can also find them at Marshall's. :)
We love our faux fur throw. We keep it over the back of our couch and cuddle up with it almost every evening. The beauty of a "good" fake, too, is that stains are not very noticeable--a MUST in a busy household. I've heard the Restoration Hardware ones are really nice, but since they're out of my pricerange, we like this one: http://tinyurl.com/bquaba5. I think the trick to a good faux is that the hairs are lighter on the end than where they meet the blanket--it gives it a nice sheen when it folds.
I got one at Target this year. It's okay but I guess you get what you pay for. I'm going to spring for a couple of the RH throws sometime before next winter, for our huge living room sectional.
I have one similar to number 2 above in my bedroom, my cat's favorite nesting place! From Marshall's, about $20.
I don't have a problem with faux fur NOT looking like real fur -- in fact, to me that's kind of preferable, since I am against using animal pelts for decor or clothing. (Maybe excepting cowhides from the meat industry.) But they need to look and feel lush and luxurious. If they aren't yummy to the touch, why not go with chenille or something?
Oddly (or not) some of the West Elm ones feel different depending on the color.
I want a deep purple faux fur throw, though....
