I often look at pictures of luxurious or unusual interiors and think 1) that's pretty, but I can't even afford the ottoman and/or 2) I am not talented or innovative enough to to put something like that together. But inspiration is everywhere - this eclectic interior is by designer Abigail Ahern and it's a perfect jumping off point for a great looking room on a budget.
A) These olive green slipcovers transform any old wingback chair into a hip centerpiece for a room. Can be bought at the Slipcover Shop for $59.00.
B) On Overstock there are over 10 brown leather club chairs to choose from at any time. All reasonably priced.
C) You can make your own pop art using graphic software or online programs for free, or can go to somewhere like Pop Art Prints.
D) Go to the hardware store and buy glossy red spray paint. A yard sale desk (although this one is from Weylants) is now a modern masterpiece.
E) No need to buy another lamp. Just replace the lamp shade for a funky look. CSN Lighting has mustard yellow shades for $10.61.
F) This is almost an exact replica of the area rug in the photograph. Do you think Abigail Ahern shops at Macy's? This rug is only $99.00.
G) Believe it or not a velvet fuchsia loveseat is not hard to come by. There are plenty for sale on websites like ebay. Finding a new velvet fuchsia loveseat is a bit more difficult. Luckily, Funky Sofa has a few options which are affordable and edgy enough to fit the look in this photograph. The sofa shown is the Marilyn loveseat for $525.00.
H) CB2's shaggy grey pillow isn't exactly the pouli sheepdog-like ottoman in the photograph, but it's still adorable.
I) Deborah Bowness's bookshelf wallpaper is available at caravanstyle.com, but it's a pricey $200.00. How about substituting the books for birch. Target has wall murals for only $99.99.
