A couple of days ago, Kathleen dropped a cherry bomb on all of us with a roundup of rooms featuring red sofas. Inspired by that roundup, I went in search of sofas in a range of reds and varying price points so that we can all get the look in our own homes.

I know red sofas had a mini-peak about 10 years ago and then quickly faded away. But I'll admit I've always liked red sofas. And when placed in rooms that are light and airy--as the photos here are--they don't have to look heavy and dated. I think a red sofa surrounded by beige walls is more likely to look "so last decade," although, really, we know that someone who has that special artistic touch can turn any rule of thumb on its head!
I LOVE colorful sofas. We used to have a teal sofa that I loved, but it didn't fit in our new home. Love the Jonathan Adler sofa, though it's sadly out of my price range.
We have a bright red sectional -- Ligne Roset's Togo.
It looks great surrounded by white, sure, but it also looks great surrounded by darks. In our current home, it is against a very dark wall and it makes the room.
My husband actually picked the color, and 5 years on, we are still in love with it.
I have a red Ikea Karlstad (in a white walled room) and I love it
We have the LazyBoy Daphne in red in our family room - with white walls and a vaulted ceiling - it looks great and with 2 boys and a dog has withstood a whole lot of abuse!
My first real furniture purchase for my own apartment was a red couch and love seat. I had brown in mind when I started looking around. I think I went to the store 2 days a week for about a month on lunch breaks before finally saying yes and I love them!
the first is gorgeous!
