Talia is one of those hostesses who is totally at ease and relaxed and yet somehow manages to pull off a flawless dinner party. Her table setting perfectly reflected this combination in its chic and rustic elements. A burlap tablecloth and sweet plaid napkins were naive counterpoints to matte gold flatware and a simple marble cheese board for charcuterie.
The purple and orange buds in vintage vases picked up on the napkin print and the colorful Iznik pattern on the tiny bowls, while the glimmering flatware was matched by champagne bubbling away in flutes. Obviously it helps that the food was both simple and scrumptious and that the outdoor setting was balmy and verdant — the perfect summer evening.
If you want to put together a similar summer dinner party, you can follow the same formula:
Just add prosecco!

love the iznik bowl.
Maybe this is doable in other parts of the country but cheese and wine garden party is not so ideal in where i am..-Northern NJ.
I did that once and all the cheeses melted and got sweaty..didn't look so appetizing...=(
I hear you, ClintonAve, but this was in Brooklyn! I think the key is to eat the cheese as fast as we did. :)
Bah humbug. It's 110 again. This is a lovey fantasy.
