Round dining tables tend to work great in small spaces, as evidenced in Ricardo's Spin On Mid Century Nostalgia kitchen. Whether placed in an eat-in kitchen or the corner of a living room, traffic flows easily around the shape of circular table. Pull up a couple of chairs and you've got a cute little dinner spot for two to four people. After the jump check out a roundup of 5 modern round dining tables, including Ricardo's adorable Tripod.
• Tripod Table from West Elm Ricardo uses this table in his kitchen, paired with vintage chairs. At only 30" diameter, it's a cinch for a small space. It's no longer available in yellow but you can pick up one of the other 3 colors: red lacquer, white lacquer and chocolate-stained veneer. $169
• Strut 36" Glass Top Table from Crate & Barrel The great thing about a glass top table is that it sort of disappears from a room's landscape a bit. $499
• TOO by Blu Dot Platten Round Dining Table from Target Available exclusively on Target's website, this cute table is almost 42", although owing to its slim lines it seems smaller. It's available in dark gray and the light blue pictured here. $299
• DOCKSTA from Ikea For the price, this table is an easy alternative to the classic Saarinen. At almost 42" wide, it's on the larger side but with its simple shape it will still read light in a room. $199
• Misewell 1/2 Nelson Café Table from Wayfair This two-tone dining table is produced by Milwaukee-based brothers Vincent and Paul Georgeson. Measuring 36", it's available in maple or walnut. $1,580

White Enamel Flatwa...
I have the Tripod Table from West Elm in white, and I love it! It's the perfect size for my tiny dining area, and the shape is great. I would recommend buying a glass top for it, though, as the lacquer is easily scratched.
love that first camel/brown set!
we bought a small table off craigslist with a metal tulip base. We love it. A round base works SO much better with small spaces. http://www.lifeonchurchill.com/2012/05/flowers-for-friday.html
I made my own round table for a small breakfast nook in my kitchen. I married the base of an accent table--painted gloss white--to a top that I routed out of MDF and painted with multiple coats of white gloss oil enamel. The result was superb: inexpensive and sturdier/better looking/better wearing than either the Docksta or the Odyssey table from CB2.
I have been thinking about buying the TOO Blu dot table from Target, but I'm not sure what chairs to pair with it - any ideas?
Hi! I'm looking into getting the Tripod Table from West Elm and never thought about the possibility of the lacquer scratching. Do you mind sharing where you may have purchased your glass top?
Whoa, blu dot for target? Didn't know that happened. (The blu dot emailings admit nothing!!!! ... or I just ignored them; one way or the other.)
I had the docksta at one point; the top is easy to scratch and if any moisture gets in, it's all over! A glass top would help, I guess. Or aggressively painting over it?
I need a table like these so badly, my kitchen is so small and the interior is horrible, a smaller table would help so much. To bad there isn't much to work with here in Iceland that's affordable.
Sorry I didn't reply to this earlier- I totally just noticed it!
I bought a glass top from glasstopsdirect.com. The glass top was $30, and the shipping was $30- so I'm not sure how much I would actually recommend the company!
