I'll admit it: I listen to Taylor Swift. In fact, I LOVE Taylor Swift. Sometimes, I'll listen to her songs over and over and over again. Cheesy pop makes me happy. The other day, in the midst of a YouTube video bender, I determined two important things: A. Taylor Swift is possibly the most adorable person on the planet, and B. I want to have a room that looks just like the set from 'We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together'.

Have you seen this video? I have, a lot, and the more I watch it the more I fall in love with its whimsical, Scandinavian-design-meets-Sesame-street look. It's a lovely mix of textures and patterns that is modern and funky and cozy all at once. The pièce de résistance, of course, is that amazing trompe l'oeil knit wallpaper; once I found something like that, everything else fell into place.

uh oh, Nancy, I like cheesy pop sometimes too, but when I wrote about Justin Bieber last month I almost had my head cut off. :)
LOL, I was going to say "please, not Taylor Swift, not on AT!!" But, then if we could "quote" movie scenes here on AT, why not music videos? I might not like her, but when it comes to design, I am willing to be open minded.
If that velvet cushion you've found comes in pouf form, I'd buy it in a minute and thank you tons for the research! ; )
I really like the design aspect here, scandinavian meets sesame street :) Too cute.
I will weigh in on Taylor swift though...I do not find her adorable, she calls herself a nerd (poser), I think her music is awful and cliche, she doesn't have a heart to break....she enjoys getting dumped. Okay I am done, now back to cleaning!
My husband made me watch the video, and I immediately fell in love with the wallpaper. If we ever manage to buy a house (Bay Area real estate, booo) we are putting that up somewhere.
I've never watched a Taylor Swift video but decided to after this post. I didn't mind her as much as I thought I would. Keeping an open mind. I listened to all the haters about Miley Cyrus as well. Granted she is annoying, but someone posted a video of her doing Lilac Wine with acoustic guitar in a field and what can I say...I'm in love. She sounded fantastic.
Lol @ Maxwell......s'lookin like Nancy managed to pull it off.
Next time maybe try including a mood board with your post.
Smurfberry,
If you can sew, there's a vintage pattern for making the round pillow with smocked edge. It's McCall's 2467, and I found it here: http://vintagepatterns.wikia.com/wiki/McCall's_2467. The pattern could easily be altered to make a pouf.
Where can I get those squirrel pajamas!?
@LaBelle The pajamas are official Taylor Swift merchandise. They are all sold out of them in her online store, but they are on ebay.
I'd love to live in this music video. This post is the best Valentine's day present.
I love TayTay too! Not just this video, but most of hers are gold too. And her style!! It's so nice to see classy women as role models, instead of the train wrecks that came before her!
Please tell me you're joking. I feel... lightheaded. I think I need to lie down...
The difference between this post and the Justin Bieber debacle is that no one, even in the comments, has claimed that Taylor Swift has talent.
(Just kidding, couldn't resist making that observation)
Taylor Swift makes me a bit ill, not because of the quality of the music, but just from the aspect of kids growing up listening to what is in her songs. No wonder so many people out there are just absolutely incapable of being in a relationship, with the near-total saturation of the media of terrible, TERRIBLE role models and examples of how to function with/treat your partner. Good on her for success, I guess? And she seems Basically Nice. But I feel so, so bad for any of her young fans who's relationship trajectory is influenced by her absurd, perpetual-preteen love songs. Hopefully they grow up and get a clue, even if she seems unwilling to.
Also, the style of this video, like everything else about her, seems extremely affected and makes it seem cheesy and kind of gross. But I'm sure all of this stuff would be really great outside of the context of Taylor Swift, so I reserve judgement.
@ Holler: Judgement is not a bad thing when it comes to protecting kids. That's called 'wisdom'. Can't speak to the style of the video because I haven't seen it and don't plan to.
Isn't Taylor Swift in her 20's now? Has anyone informed her? She is like a reverse child star.
Thank you, Sundaydrive00!
