Day 7: Thursday, January 10
Task: Plan Your Get-Together for the Weekend of February 1-3
Ok, see those lovely ladies sitting up there, toasting to the good life in a clean, organized room? Looks nice, right? Well, fast forward a few weeks and you and a few friends can be doing the same...in your just-completed-the-January-Cure home. Hosting a get-together is one of the best ways to celebrate your hard work this month and truly enjoy the fruits of your labor, so today is the day you make the plan and get your inviting underway...Your end-of Cure celebration can be as big or small as you want it to be - from a mellow glass of wine with your BFF on Friday evening to a cozy Saturday night dinner for 4 to a relaxing Sunday brunch for six to elegant cocktails for 12 (or more!) - the size, time and style of get together is totally up to you. Maybe a movie night potluck is your style? A wine or dessert tasting? Games night? Clothes swap? An extended family dinner?
Whatever sounds fun to you, that will give you a good goal event to shoot for and some built-in time with friendly faces to share your success with is going to work! Often, when we haven't been feeling good about how clean or organized our homes are, we hesitate to share our space with friends but now, that excuse is out the window! Shake off your worries and know that you are getting so much done this month, you'll be in really good shape to relax and enjoy by the time February rolls around, and - a bonus! - that by having the get-together scheduled, it will be easier to stay on track and resist the slack..
Finally, if you are still hesitating, its important to remember that friends are happy to spend time with you and will be honored to be invited. In today's busy world, an invite to a gathering at someones home can be a rare thing and is always appreciated. No one will be inspecting your home - they'll be enjoying your company!
Choose a date and time for a get-together at your home on the weekend of February 1 - 3 (or whatever date is best for your schedule near the start of February). Make up a guest list and send out the invites - paper or electronic is fine, just make sure you get going on the invites TODAY and get them out ASAP.
Tara (who is liveblogging the January Cure, as you know) put together this selection that she found while doing her own party planning and thought she'd share them with all of you who are thinking about sending traditional paper invites
