Lines are still probably still forming outside of your local Apple store with people waiting to get the iPhone 4S. But you don't have to be one of these people shivering and being made to wait. Check out our tips and tricks for getting your spanking new iPhone 4S the fast and easy way.

Make a reservation. You can make a reservation before you go into the store to ensure that there's an iPhone 4S waiting for you with your name on it (not literally). Head on over to www.apple.com/iphone/how-to-buy/ click on Reserve and just go through the process. Check a few of your local stores to see if your preferred model is in-stock. Be sure to do this at 9pm to reserve yours. Many stores are actually taking reservations only, so make sure you try the reservation before you head in the store.

Find out what time your local store start selling iPhones. Many stores are opening early exclusively for iPhone sale. My local Apple store is opening at 8am, two hours prior to its usual 10am opening time. Although it's posted on their door, apparently not many people know about it. Give your Apple store a call to see if they are opening early to sell you an iPhone, so you'll be able to beat the line.

Or just give your Apple store a call. Apple is so secretive about their product, that even employees at the Apple retail stores have a difficult time telling you what will be in the next shipment. Give your Apple store a call before you head in to see if they got a surprise shipment with some iPhone 4S. Each store has a different policy regarding walk-ins so it's also good to ask before you head in.

Also keep in mind, if you're not picky about color, the most available model is black AT&T 16GB iPhone 4S, so you should have little problem getting a reservation. Also if you have a little extra money in your pocket, you could opt for the less popular 32GB or 64GB models.
