I've always preferred homemade holiday decorations to store bought. They just seem a little warmer and when it comes to this star made of sticks, it couldn't be any more lovely. This diy is simple to make, inexpensive and can fit almost any space!
We stopped in at one of our favorite Swedish reads (is it still reading if you only drool over the photos?) Helt Enkelt to check out this shining star of a project — literally.
Starting with some cleaned up sticks and some of that pretty twine you always want an excuse to buy, a large star has been created and found a home on the wall. It's a large piece of decor that is only as expensive as the lights that adorn it but give off a big holiday glow. You can check out more details over at Helt Enkelt.

winner - best title of the day.
Agree! Great title for a great post. Just got back from a big box store that put me in a Christmas funk. All I wanted was a wreath frame to make one from cuttings and was underwhelmed by the over-priced-plastic-pre-lit-glittered-shiny-fake crap. I needed that little twiggy star, thanks :)
Love the star! So easy to make (if you live in a place with sticks) and fun, cheap, easy, and pretty!! xo-SRSLY
I mean, I'm not even Jewish (or Christian!) but I'm sooo making this for the holidays.
LOVE!! and srsly, you are SOOOO right. if you live in a place with sticks, it's a breeze. currently I am living in a stickless environment!! Great post!!
Agree with the title love! Now I've got Will Smith stuck in my head.
OK, now the only question is - what does the star have to do with Hanuka? It wasn't a Jewish symbol back then. The Menorah is more of a Hanuka symbol...
It's the Star of David, no? Isn't it appropriate for any Jewish holiday?
Maybe, in as much as you want to see huge crosses for any Christian holiday....
