Who doesn't love a quick and painless DIY project? The uber-talented Bri Emery of designlovefest has launched a new segment called MAKE IT to her already dripping-with-inspiration-mega-blog. This weekly column, headed by her crafty assistant Alex, offers up super easy DIYs like colorful chicken wire vases and pom-pom wearing straws. The crafts are vibrant, youthful, and full of personality (just like Miss Bri).
My favorite project to date is the color-dipped vase. The gals chose a simple and inexpensive item, Ikea's Blomster candle holder (used as a planter). They covered the upper portion with tape, spray painted the exposed area, and voila--a really cool, custom, DIYed item! The possibilities are endless as what you can "drip dry" (for time saving purposes, just spray paint) as long as the items are white or clear.
