Perhaps it is because we graduated into our thirties this past year, or because 2010 is a monumental year as we transition into the second decade of the century, but we've been overcome with the need to get organized this new year. Really organized. We've seen these monthly calendars
from Moleskine all over our favorite design blogs, and we knew, immediately, that we had to have one. Each month comes in its own multi-colored notebook, and the whole year is held together in classic Moleskine style with a black cover. We popped this on our Christmas list, and we are now well into our maroon January book. We tried to manage our calendar electronically in 2009, but have returned to good, old fashioned calendar and pen in an effort to have a more tangible hold on our schedule.
In the days leading up to the new year, and since the clock struck midnight, we've been on an organizing rampage. New calendar, major decluttering, trips to drop off usable discards, and trying to streamline almost every aspect of our daily life have been the focus this week. Who else would we turn to for further inspiration? Why, Martha Stewart, of course! There are many a list that help to get your home, life, and belongings under control, like this one that you can download from her website. Six Things to Do Every Day provides a mini-routine on keeping your living space (mental and physical!) organized.
While we continue to strive towards simplifying and streamlining, we wonder what tips our loyal readers have on the subject? Are there any tried-and-true methods you can recommend? Any great products that have helped you to keep things in order?
Here's to a happy, healthy and organized 2010!
