Color Inspiration: The gloriously vibrant colors in the Chinese Art Deco rug. Actually, because the colors are so vibrant, I kept the walls white, but I used the rug to determine the paint colors in the rest of the apartment.

Fuschia, Black and Blue

Colors Used: The dining area's accent wall is fuschia, and my bedroom is teal — custom made, all Benjamin Moore.

Color Tip: It depends on the person's taste. It's a shame to decorate your home based on how other people will respond; New York simply is too expensive, and too crazy, for it not to be entirely suited to your own tastes. And the thing is, most colors go well together; it's more a matter of balance.
