Here's my final gift list of thirty items for children (or young adults), culled from a year of finding cool stuff every day for The Daily Find. Yesterday I ran Gifts For Him and before that Gifts for Her. (The gendering of the lists is very loose and you'll find stuff you like on all three.) Got a great gift idea? Spread the love and add the link down below in the comments. Enjoy!

White Enamel Flatwa...
I thought the same about the candle plus all three gift lists contain a lot of high priced items. Are you list makers not experiencing the same rotten economy as I am?
Ditto on the candle.
Seriously... candles, red, white and blue pennants? Strange list.
What kid would be happy to get a blanket? Or a duvet cover?
Candles, blankets, pennants, carpets, Tin-Tin figurines...and almost all items on the list...are NOT good presents for kids! Who put this together? and worse, who approved it for publication? VERY DISAPPOINTED!
Storage baskets? Candles? Duvet covers? This is clearly a list for the parents, not the kids.
These gifts are like getting coal in your Christmas stocking!
Santa must have had too much eggnog, oops.
Try again tomorrow.
Let's be clear: these are gifts to parents of children, not to the children themselves. You know what most kids want? Stuffed animals, dolls, coloring books, action figures, robots, Legos, and Nerf guns.
They don't want $380 pieces of art and won't appreciate them. It's an exercise in futility to give any of these to children. Their parents will appreciate them, but the child won't. The child would rather have a real toy.
Yeah, I'm going to get my kid three $120 organizing baskets for Christmas and call it a day.
It's like something out of "Bad Santa".
Um, my kids love candles (and the big kids get them) and they asked for blankets last year, and got them too. This year, they want more blankets and sheets.
But yep, they also want legos, and critters and books and such. And the big kids want mp3 players.
And no... we won't be buying anything this expensive.
I agree with the above comments. My two boys (ages 6 and 8) would say EVERYTHING on this list was LAME. They would love a top or a puzzle, a book or a game...oh and a flying helicopter that shoots missiles.
i bought the bike for our 2.5 yo, and my 7 yo would love that quick pop thing...... she likes the instant gratification....
These don't look like gifts for kids, but maybe rather for their parents(??). And they are silly expensive.
I agree, that I would love some of this stuff for our family...so maybe they would work for a family gift. The bike would be good for a younger child. I am so stuck in the elemenry school age thing (and I hae all boys) that I forget the younger set. Bad me.
@gypsymomma - I guess it also depends on your loose definition of "kids" - my mom still calls me a kid, but I'm definitely not a kid anymore.
When most people say "kids" they mean young children - not preteens, teenagers or anyone older than a teenager. So in that context, I'd say most of these gifts would go totally unappreciated by children.
$27.50 for a knitting pattern? ??? You can practically figure it out by looking at it!
Ah, it's for an entire book of patterns.
most of these are too pricey for kids.. who often enjoy playing with the box more than the toy itself.. or they love it for a week and forget about it..
I really like the chair desk combo..
This is obviously a gifts for parents list.
Seems like the consensus is that this is a lousy list, even if it does have pretty, albeit puzzling, choices. We are getting our three year old: a collection of hats (cowboy, construction, airplane pilot), a truck, colorful dominoes, a playtent, and a book of photographs of our year. We have the popsicle maker (it was a birthday gift for dad), which is a lot of fun (at least in the summer).
Not to put too fine a point on it, but I am making the blanket, spent $18 on the book (which is a nice book, for sure!) and $165 on superwash merino, and if I pay myself minimum wage to knit it, well....you get the picture. But I am making it. I agree that this list appeals to adult children...wish I had $300 for the Anthropologie rug though--adorable.
I'm sure there are some children who like candles. In fact, my son likes them. Likes to chew on them, that is. It's just not a practical gift for most children, and I'm disappointed to see candles taking up two spots on the list. I have four young children to buy for this year, and it would have been nice to see a list of more appropriate ideas, especially in the under $50 range.
Tegu Blocks how could you forget these great blocks. www.tegu.com
Want a great kid's present without the huge price tag? Check out my Artotes! Under $30 for a complete present a kid will love (and parents will, too!).

We get Paul Smith socks as a special present for a grown up & you're suggesting one of his rugs for a kid?
Can you adopt me?
This list feels like it's been pulled together by advertisers and not with kid's in mind. Not sue that citrus called wash tubs would be a hit -- and hard to wrap. What about a good picture book to share while snuggeled up in warm blankets around a roaring fire? And it adds up to about .25 per read.
Everything on the list is very lovely, and it is clear that the person who wrote it does not have, and has possibly never met, a child.
we love the momiji dolls for girls. tuck a little message in the bottom and its a keepsake. they will be sure to start a collection as every girl we know between the ages of 3-12 have been crazy for them.
