Bloody Life No. 3, 1975
If you're looking for a quick escape that takes you indoors and surrounds you with art, the British duo Gilbert & George has a summer exhibition at the Milwaukee Art Museum. Here, a few select images from the show, highlighting the artists' London environment:From the museum's foreword: Often described as the quintessential London artists, Gilbert & George take their subject matter from their immediate environment, the liminal border between the City (the financial and commercial district of London) and the East End. The fusions and tensions of the area, between local and global, privilege and exclusion, migrant populations and cultural traditions, are at the heart of their art.

White Enamel Flatwa...
These guys are so ridiculously neat... and most of the time their social commentary is quite interesting. What nice visual collages - I'd love to see this in person.
I was lucky enough to catch it back when it was at the Tate in London. AMAZING!!!
I highly recommend MAM.... They have quite a nice collection of 20th Century art.
