The home automation industry has seen notably shifted in the last few years from proprietary hardware systems to now regularly releasing monitoring and automation software for mobile devices like the iPhone. Gira offers some of the most modern and sleek looking home automation systems with hardware that looks straight out of both Bang and Olufsen and Apple's design playbook. And now they've unveiled their latest iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad app, the Gira Interface app.
Users will be able to access controls and monitoring displays for feature such as room controls for lighting, window coverings, temperature control, energy use and remote camera operation for safety.
The new Gira Interface applications enable convenient mobile operation of the entire technology of a building – with an iPhone, iPod touch or iPad, via GSM, UMTS or WLAN, and from inside or outside the building. They communicate with the Gira HomeServer 3 or FacilityServer. This is a simple and elegant way of operating complex building technology while away or from any room at home. The applications, or "app", acts as a client, communicating with the Gira HomeServer 3 or FacilityServer: the Gira Interface optimised for the touch screen displays all functions clearly and concisely, enabling their quick access. The display is either horizontal or vertical and can be modified by simply rotating the device. For example, two different views can be generated via user administration: inner and outer. A maximum of 4 profiles are available. The apps are exclusively available from the Apple App Store.
