It's back to school time for those of us with school (or preschool, or pre-preschool)-aged kids. To mark this special milestone in your child's life, give them a schultuete. A what you ask?
Yeah, we didn't know what a schultuete was either before seeing one at the Mother Huddle. A schultuete is a German tradition consisting of a large cone filled with sweets, treats and back to school supplies given on the first day of school. We really like the idea of indulging the kids a bit on the first day of school with a simple schultuete, although we'll probably save ours for the end of the school day. For detailed instructions and more photos of how to make a schultuete, check out The Mother Huddle.
