Although in my mind nothing quite compares to Ochre's flawless version, I've been happily surprised by the number of runner-ups. While they range in style and material composition, all of the following possess at least a tiny touch of that whimsical, unfussy take on elegance so often absent in the typical crystal chandelier:
• 1. Ochre's Artic Pear Chandelier. The real deal. Ranging in size from 17¾” D -47¼” D and in price from $3,690.00 - $8,900.00.
• 2. Robert Abbey's Bling Flush Mount in Polished Nickel. Also available as a chandelier and wall sconce. $550
• 3. Pottery Barn's Clarissa Glass Drop Chandelier 13" diameter, 19.5" high $399
• 4. John Salibello's Multitiered glass drop ceiling fixture. This looks similar to a ceiling mount version of Pottery Barn's Clarissa with round drops.
• 5. Aristocrat Lighting's Drop Crystal Chandelier CAD $425
• 6. zgallerie's Jupiter Chandelier 19.75" $399
• 7. Wrapables's Glass Globe Chandelier available with black or white shade. $199.95
• 8. Mini Two-light Crystal Chandelier at Overstock, $80
• 9. West Elm's Glass Link Chandelier, 11.02"w x 24.2"d x 33.86"h. $299
• Eibert Draisma Pendant Lamp Vino Glass at High Fashion Home. D. 50cm, H. 38cm, L. 150cm. $299

Big big drawback on these things is that they're dust magnets, and a b**ch to clean.
loving the first one and the last one!
loving all of these!
I own the fourth one, and can attest to the dust magnetic properties (and have no idea about the cleaning, since I've been too lazy to do anything about it). But I absolutely ADORE it - it really makes the dining room.
It was the first thing I bought for my new house. And now, there's no way this light is staying with the house - am definitely writing it into my contract that the light has to come with me.
Some are nice but I agree- nothing compares to Ochre's.
I like all of it.. however i agree with the difficulty of cleaning it.
The first one is to die for!
we have the west elm chandelier (second to last) and love it. we've only had it for a few months and they are still spotless.... but seems that once or twice a year i'll take links down, soak and wipe. no biggie for such a gorgeous piece. we really enjoy it and guests often comment that they love it too!
I like the globe one (number 7) but most of these are too big and heavy for my tastes.
We have the following chandelier from Pottery Barn. Much more affordable than the Ochre and i receive compliments on it all the time. http://www.potterybarn.com/products/bellora-chandelier/?catalogId=7&bnrid=3380801&cm_ven=Google%20Base&cm_cat=Shopping&cm_pla=Feed&cm_ite=Google%20Base
I am curious to know where you got your pricing info on the Arctic Pear. I have been eying that chandelier for a few years now, but the prices that I have been quoted are double the range you are saying (more like $5k-$9k vs. $3k to $4k). I would love to hear that they have dropped their price from the stratospheric to the merely ludicrous level!
yes yes, MillValleyMom sorry I realized that I listed prices from a sample sale last year (wishful thinking)....so that might just be the way to go last year. It's been corrected
Drat! I was hoping you were right...
I'm looking for a crystal chandelier similar to the distressed silver leaf chandelier on this page. Or the Eibert Draisma featured as the last chandelier in this post. I'm in MN and would like to pick it up as oppose to ordering it online. http://www.bellacor.com/crystal-chandeliers.htm
found a version of the arctic pear this still expensive, but way less expensive:

Does anyone know the cost for the Arctic Pearl Table Lamp? I'm redecorating my loft and thought about the Moooi Rabbit Lamps but I have always loved the Arctic Pearl Lamps from Ochre and thought they would make great beside lamps.
I bought the 17 1/2 arctic pear and was afraid it would be too small according to recommendations for dinig table. It's awesome. It would have been overwhelming to have gotten 24" cuz it is a lot of glass and light.
My husband thought it was going to be total extravagance but it is so cool he loves it. We got it in SFrancisco thru Urban Hardwoods store (Van Maren Concepts is actual rep I think).
