Target is starting off the year with new arrivals of their popular Global Bazaar collections. This year they've added two new color collections to the existing Red, Bronze, and Green stories they've had in the past. This time, there's yellow+black and blue+purple...
Ever since Kelly Wearstler did the popular Viceroy Palm Springs (originally called the Estrella) several years ago, it seemed like everyone jumped on the yellow/black/white trend and we saw it everywhere in retail store decor, magazines, model homes, etc... Strangely, I find myself drawn to the yellow colorstory in this collection the most, but am also eyeing some pieces in the Bronze collection- specifically this Starburst mirror for only $89! In light of this, are there any particular secrets to mixing global items like this with the mid-century modern look? I find myself attracted to both looks but I don't know how to justify the two together...
Yeah, a whole lot. I combed the site a week ago and saved everything of interest. Brooklyn Target is still putting racks together although tonight they did have most of that done and a lot of merchandise out. They've been putting out a few pieces for days, so people have been clearing them out.
The canvas items actually come in more prints/colors than are listed online. For instance the yellow floral rectangle. I'm hoping that Carved Wooden Mirror comes in stock. Although shipping would be free. Who wants to ship a mirror? I've done it 3X successfully, but... Also, those little carved wooden frames are really pretty.
Dear Target, next year don't hit with this right after Christmas. We want to spend without a knot in our gut. Thx.
