There seems to be a growing trend of families looking to purge and organize—in their homes and in their lives. Perhaps it's the Pinterest inspiration, or perhaps we're all finally growing tired of collecting unnecessary clutter. (Perhaps it's a bit of both.)
If 2013 is your year to become completely clutter-free or even to simplify your life and home just a little, The Minimalist Mom has a perfect assortment of "Start Here" ideas and inspirations to get you and your family going in the right direction. Rachel Jonat, a.k.a. The Minimalist Mom, is herself an inspiration to anyone looking to simplify and declutter. (In fact, her family's journey to get out of debt inspired my husband and me to become totally free of consumer debt before the birth of our first daughter.) Even with a toddler and a baby on the way, Rachel and her husband are able to live happily on and with less than the average middle class family.
She knows how difficult it can be to start the decluttering process, and she's compiled a list of links and hints to help make 2013 your year to get started: her own blog posts from 2010 when she started down the minimalism path; some information on the 30 Day Clutter Bootcamp, which she admits is intense but totally worth it; and some ideas on how to stay motivated after the resolution honeymoon is over.

Thank you for this. I'm on a mission this year to declutter. I'm happy to have found the Minimalist Mom and I feel like seeing this post today really means that I'm on the right path!
Decluttering is definitely my mission this year!
Me too, I have this my mission, I really struggle to throw things out at times. I'm starting by hiring a professional de-clutterer- what is your opinion on them?
