Measuring a whopping 3 feet in diameter, the Gomitolo Knit Clock is a huge statement. We spotted this crocheted cotton clock by Italian company Diamantini & Domeniconi on our last trip to The Conran Shop and have noticed it popping up in magazines and online ever since...

Designed by Carlo and Benedetta Tamborini for Diamantini & Domeniconi, the Gomitolo is available at The Conran Shop for $575.

yoiks! Never woulda thought of knitting a clock.
It is knit, *not* crochet.
whytephoenix - actually, the designers refer to it as both knit AND crochet...so i did the same!
well, the designers are wrong, because there is no visible crochet on that clock. Maybe it's hidden on the back? (or maybe the designers have no clue what crafts are actually employed to implement their designs)
I think the designers were referring to the material, a particular type of cotton thread, often referred to as "crochet cotton" though it is also used for knitting, tatting, etc.
I love it, but would like a smaller one.
Hmm, that's odd. I'll go with paintit's theory... looks knit as far as I can tell. Nice work, in any case.
My only complaint is that I might be tempted to use it as a pillow, and I bet those clock movements would poke ;)

"The Gomitolo clock designed by Carlo and Benedetta Tamborini has a soft ecru knit cotton cover - a new, fresh and unexpected finish for a wall clock. " - IT's knitted. It's like a beret. Cute idea. I might try it.
