Picking out a functional teapot that expresses one's personal style is one of those fraught experiences that can plunge the more neurotic among us (possibly just me) into fits of existential despair. Who am I? Am I stainless steel or pink and retro? Am I elegant or quirky? All I knew for sure was that I didn't want to be a person with a teapot collection; I just wanted one perfect teapot.
But picking out one perfect teapot is a tall order. There are so many teapots out there, and I'm sure every one is right for somebody. It's just a matter of finding the one that's right for you.
I'm not sure I've found it yet, but I'm always looking. Have you seen a particularly awesome teapot in your travels? Let us know in the comments.

How can you not include Beehouse teapots? They are by far the best design for everyday use. Easy to clean, pretty good on the pour ( a major failure of most teapots is the spout lip), very inexpensive, and darned cute. I make pots of tea several times a day, and I have many "fancy" pots. But the Beehouse pots are what I grab 90% of the time.
Mention must be made, as well, of the good old Brown Betty teapot. Stodgy and dependable.
I enjoy the Bodum and several other glass tea pots; but I have a vintage German pot with stainless, insulated cozy that is by far my favorite! I wish that today, more designers would incorporate a good, functional cozy.
Totally loving this feature. I hope you will make it a regular. This one is specially precious, as I am looking for a cute teapot :-)
Um, what's wrong with having a collection of teapots? I love my teapots! My favorite is a handmade tea set I picked up from the fair trade store while traveling in Egypt. I carried it home in my arms through two connecting flights! Of course I love both the tea pots in this collection that are listed in pounds which means they're one and a half times the price listed plus large shipping fees! I'll stick with my pots at home!
Are you f*c#ing kidding me with the SIX THOUSAND DOLLAR TEAPOT? That thing belongs in a museum, not some yuppie's kitchen.
Great post! Please add more tea posts.
I love my Le Creuset teapot:

I have a light-to-dark fade green, rather than the red shown. Thought $28 was a reasonable price, too.
How could you overlook what is arguably the most famous tea pot, the Brown Betty? I just got one this week and it lives up to it's reputation--pours perfectly and has excellent heat retention. And they're cute!
