Vases are a great way to add personality to a room. Much in the way that jewelry can enhance an outfit, vases are like accessories for your home. The best kind of vase is one that you love with or without flowers and that can stand on its own — making the table where it sits more beautiful for its presence.
Even if the style in your home is minimal or veers very much towards a particular aesthetic, adding a vase in a totally different style into the mix can inject a bit of life into your look.

It's such a shame that the MOMA store doesn't ship to Canada. I can't find a decent Rothko print to save my life, and that vase would look killer on my carved Indian chest. Sigh. For a country that claims to be a design giant (pfft!) we certainly don't walk the walk.

I hate vases. They are such a waste of space. And then suddenly someone is nice and gives me a flower bouquet and I have to put the flowers in an old pitcher or something.. I wish there was a really beautiful vase that had multiple functions.. SO it wasn't just collecting dust in my cabinet when there's no flowers..
The copper conical vase is my favorite amongst these pickings.. Good one Liana.. :)

IDA, it seems like you missed this post: http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/20-things-to-do-with-that-vase-after-the-flowers-are-gone-168469
All the vases I own were thrifted. Some of them are awesome mid-century West German pottery. I would pay from a dollar to about $10 max for unique pieces that stood the test of time!
I have always loved that MOMA one.
@STICKYSTUFF Yaaay!! Thanks a bunch!!!! :D That article made me realize I'm a bit blind to all the things you can do with them.. I'll see them differently from now on.. :)
