While we're not typically fond of recycled newspaper products, we are quite drawn to this wallpaper made of past issues. Woven together in small strips, the bursts of color aren't overwhelming and you can often make out words and sentences!
Lori Weitzner creates beautiful wallpapers and other textiles (check out the Currents paper, which can be used as a room divider, as well) and "Newsworthy" is no exception. We love the repurposing of old issues of the news, as well as the modern feel to this ecologically thoughtful wallcovering. As far as we can tell it is available to the trade only, for $125 per roll--perhaps this could be a DIY project? We imagine, though, that it would be a pretty labor intensive one.

I like it!
so much for that news fast.
looks cool, but what a disaster: brittle, yellowing panels in no time...just find a clipped recipe from last year's daily tucked into one of your cookbooks to see what i mean.
It is to the trade. The showroom I work at, Kneedler Fauchere, reps laurie's papers and this is pretty spectacular and has gained a lot of buzz!!! She also just came out with linen wallpaper backed with magnetized rubber. So you can place magnets on your wall.
This actually looks more like magazine pages to me, and if they are quality clay-coated magazines, they might hold up quite well over time. (As pointed out, actual newsprint will not.)
Dharma Trading carries place mats made out of recycled newspaper that could be sewn together to do this. http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/3447717-AA.shtml
We used them for a low impact/recycled dinner party.
