Ohdeedoh reader Kirsten (of Kirsten*Can) showed us her adorable homemade mobile a couple of weeks ago, and now she's sharing photos of her children's recently renovated playroom. The flooring needed to be pulled up and replaced, so Kirsten and her husband Aaron seized the opportunity to give the room a fresh, fun new look, featuring one of our favorite color combos: red and light blue.
Kirsten says, "I like our playroom and had such fun decorating it - but that old carpet was holding it back, y'know?" (To judge for yourself, check out Kirsten's "Before" photos to see the room with its old mauve carpeting. Her husband described it as "The color of a sick rat's eye." How's that for a mental image?)
The carpet was pulled up to make way for new Ikea Tundra flooring, topped with a fabulous red shag rug, which her kids love to lie on while reading. The old freebie plastic play kitchen was replaced with a sweet little homemade curtain-fronted version.
And apropos of very little, we also have to say how much we love the display of Star Wars spacecraft atop the shelves.
