I came across this image from the home of Kin Ting Lee of Madewell and Dan Perna of J. Crew in a recent issue of Lucky and fell in love with their DIY shelving solution.
They created a high style wall of shelving with a rustic feel by combining Ikea countertops that have been sawed in half lengthwise with inexpensive hardware store brackets. You can get the look by combining the Ikea Lagan countertop ($60 per 96 inches) with a Closetmaid track bracket ($3 each).
