I spent part of yesterday ordering more art supplies for the kids. We go through lots of paint quickly in our house, a lot of which goes right down the drain. The problem is the pouring. The kids are exuberant about pouring the desired colors into small dishes and before I know it, there is a bowl full of mixed up sludge-colored goop that nobody wants to re-use. Then I saw this terrific idea over at Let's Explore.
Amy shares with us her great idea of storing paints in little squeeze bottles. The kids can help themselves and squeeze out a litte bit at a time. She also suggests using small palettes for less waste. So simple, right? For more details about Amy's great idea, check out her blog Let's Explore.

Another tip ... if you have a palette full of paint, cover it with saran wrap and it will stay wet. Just press the saran onto the paint a little.
Using palettes with small depressions instead of large wells will prompt you/them to squeeze less out of the bottle, too.
What a nice surprise - thanks for the link! :)
