Greeting Apartment Therapy folks! I am coveting this blanket featured in Cookie Magazine this month. It was shown in a story about visiting the Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill, Kentucky. Any inexpensive suggestions on where I can find a black and white checked blanket like this one? I'm so desperate. Thanks for your help, Vanessa

Wow, what a fantastic space with just the right punch of black. Anyone have a tip on those awesome blankets?

Hey! I love the look of a black and white checkered blanket. Also, I love the small layered rugs in the picture!
I can understand why you're submitting your question to AT, I'm having a hard time finding anything as well. This is a cool black and white blanket if you're looking for alternatives to black and white checkers.

Love the blanket also - not sure if this is exactly it, but here is what I found:
pricey but lovely:

sbrant found the same Woolrich and Pendleton things as me, but if you want to look more on your own, search for "buffalo check" or "buffalo plaid".
Try finding wool fabric and bind it with a blanket stitch or trim binding. You can do it yourself or have a seamstress help.
Good lord, that room is gorgeous.
The room has a very scandinavian feel to it. The rag rugs look like they were handwoven (vs factory) on a rug loom & then stitched together to make a large carpet.
Did you ever find any?
You might also consider going to a fabric shop and just making a snap type blanket cover that could be used over existing blankets/quilts.
Never found one! I'm going to hit some fabric stores next week - may have to settle on making one instead!
