Here's a good question from Mary:
My sister removed the heavy, ornate metal backplates from her kitchen cabinet hardware and I'm looking for a way for her to use them somehow. They're about 4" square and she has about 20 or so of them. Thanks.
It's important to note that the photo above was not sent by Mary. We're not sure exactly what her sister's backplates look like.
Still, does anyone have any ideas?

If your sis doesn't want to use them, post them on craigslist. SOMEBODY is bound to want them.
other ideas: depending on length and personal style preference, you could use heavy jump rings to link them together to form a belt, or a purse strap.
You could sew them onto bags as decoration, or make one into a necklace and one into a bracelet.
If you/she know any bellydancers, these back plates might be just the thing to make a belt base out of.
Paint them bright colors and use them as balloon weights.
Depending on the size, they could be used to make plate mail for a child's halloween costume (DUDE, real metal armor? I would have LOVED that as a kid).
Of course, if they're hideous, you can always just take them to goodwill.
You can make cute little jewelry/hat/coat racks with the funky pulls. Salvage centers often sell drawer fronts for super cheap that already have holes drilled in them. Paint them, decoupage or distress them, add the pulls and a hanger on the back and you're set.
Yeah, sell them on craigslist/ebay.
