Has anyone tried out Gusanito Worm Bin Farm 3 Tray Garden Composter, It looks like an easy alternative for me, as I don't think I'll be building my own compost worm home's... or if you have experience with other worm bins?

We love the idea of vermicomposting -- but we've never actually ventured into that territory ourselves. Does anyone have any experience with the Gusanito Worm Bin Farm 3 Tray Garden Composter or have any other recommendations for Daiz?

I tend to lean away from plastic bins (especially black plastic bins). I think they get the worms too hot and don't allow for good air flow. The healthiest bins I have seen are wooden bins - good air and moisture flow. There is a homeless shelter in Chicago that makes them (Pacific Garden Mission). though I am sure you can find them elsewhere as well.

I second the PGM vermicomposting boxes if you are in Chicago. In addition to purchasing the box you also take a class that teaches you everything you need to know about taking care of the worms.

I tried to get info on the PGM worm bins- are they stacked? do they have a spiggot at the bottom to collect tea?
