Kim sent an email:
Help. I bought a small faux leather and brass desk clock and have no idea what size battery it needs!! No one at Target could help..help!!
This should be an easy fix...
...most jewelry stores sell and install watch and clock batteries. If you take your clock in, they should be able to set you up with the right battery.
A second option if that doesn't work out: There is a clock repair shop called Time Keeper (1148 Belmont, 773.296.0942) where we had a watch repaired - they could probably help you with a battery as well if you bring it there.
Anyone else have any ideas for Kim? Other clock repair shops in Chicago?

Hm...every clock I've ever bought came equipped with a battery. I just took the old one with me to be sure I bought the correct replacement. Barring that, I'd google the mfr and if the info's not listed, I'd send an e-mail inquiry. They might even send you a free battery.
That said, the jewelry store or repair shop might produce more timely results. Good luck!
