Hello AT,
My wife and I are looking for a small pendant lamp for use in our bathroom renovation. We recently found one similar to the attached sketch...but we can't remember who makes it or where we saw it! We are looking for something small, but it definitely needs to show a little air between the globe and the ceiling. Thanks, Matthew

Dear Matthew,
We've seen this too and can pretty much guarantee that you'll find it in one of these places:
• YLighting
• Unica Home
• Lighting by Gregory
Anyone else??

So, do tell -- I've tried a couple of times to get my question posted as a Good Question -- how to tell whether a particular ceiling light would look right with a low (8 foot ceiling) & what amount of dangle is too little -- and apparently it's not a Good Question. So I will ask it here, since we're discussing ceiling lights and pendants. Does anyone have thoughts on how to judge, approximately, what size and suspension of a light would work in a given space?
How about:

Go for the classic-
the Brera S for Flos by Archille Castiglioni;

All other lamps don't compare!
You can get these everywhere at all different price points--from Home Depot on up.
Thanks all!
The form of the Brera is close but too big. The globe we saw measured 8" (h) at most. Also, the top of the globe is open and the metal ferrule is a collar around the opening.
Try Vibia at www.vibialight.com
cheapo, Tech Lighting has a bunch of small-scale pendants -- maybe something here works for you?

If you have to ask...!

I thought it might be the Icicle Pendant, but that has a different top...

Love that little sketch!
We are using the Tech Lighting Elements Firefrost on a condo project here in Boston, and they look great installed.
Ikea has a new pendant that may provide you a good option :

I have the Poulsen Moser pendants that rowdyman suggested. They are a little over 7 in. diameter.
