Hello AT,
Can anybody help me with this...I have a great Cinni fan that I bought about 10 years ago in NYC. The store is no longer in existence. A loud humming noise began to develop so my husband took it apart to fix it,(no snarky comments here please) but when he put it back together it no longer worked at all. You can hear the motor turn on but the fan doesn't move...

So I've looked up Cinni fans, which it turns out were originally manufactured in India. The company is no longer in existence and I am looking for a repair shop or specialist that I can take it to. I think a fan restoration shop or someone who specializes in antique electrical goods could probably handle it. It's not an antique - but I was thinking that might be the better route?
Can anyone recommend a good one in New York City?
Thanks! Jaime

I'm wondering if Lee's lighting might... they used to sell the fans out of their lighting department, and do have a repair department.
Two years ago I took a rattling fan to an old machine shop on 25th between 6th and 7th Aves, north side of the street, lots of clocks in the window. He took it apart, showed me how to oil it, put it back together and didn't charge me. I'm sure that for a small fee you can skip the socializing part. Don't know if he is still there, but there are a lot of different repair shops in the surrounding blocks right there. You ought to be able to find someone who can oil a fan and put it back together properly.
This shop seems to repair anything houshold and mechanical, and really well:
