Q: Can someone please help me identify the floor lamp highlighted by the Red circle in the attached photo? It seems like something from Artemide, but their catalogue doesnt have anything similar. Have seen this lamp at many places and am dying to get it if its affordable. Thanks.

Editor: You are in luck! This lamp appears to be VERY affordable — it looks like the SAMTID from IKEA which is just $40.
Who has experience with the SAMTID? Is the price too good to be true?

Commercial Flour Sa...
I have a SAMTID (which does seem to be the lamp in the picture) and really like it. I get compliments on it all the time.
Definitely looks like Ikea. I have two. They are ok, good price. I've had for a couple of years, they have survived three moves.
I have a Samtid in my kids' play room and it has been great. Very afordable and very functional. The shade is a little cheap looking depending on how picky you are, but I like it.
We have one too, and it's made even better with the addition of a dimmer. So functional.
I HAD the Samtid in my living room for a bit, but was just not happy with the quality of materials. It was painted silver, as opposed to nickel plated, which made it look chinsy. Also, the shade is pretty cheapy looking plastic and puts off light that is a little too bright white.
I tried to make myself like it, but couldn't. I ended up giving it away and going with a different lamp from Crate & Barrel.
I will say that the build quality is good and it has fairly good weight to it.
It's IKEA -- I have it in the nickel finish, and I like it. It's not super high-end looking (the hinge is plastic, the shade is plastic, etc), but I've found that it looks lovely with a pink lightbulb, which you can find pretty easily at a hardware store.
Yup, that's the IKEA SAMTID. Totally cheap and looks it. I actually like it, but only until I can afford something nicer. It's a great design, I wish they made a higher end one.
They're good, though the ones they are selling now look slightly cheaper (aka more plastic, less metal) than the one's they've been shilling in year's past. And the light looks fine if you get the right bulb for it.
We have two of these and I think they're great... my only issue is I fear it looks to "ikea-y" . . .
The lighting fixture that IKEA is shamelessly knocking-off with its SAMTID is the Easy Light by Ligne Roset.

Much, MUCH, better quality and design.
I have one of these (the IKEA version) and I love it... you can always put a lower-watt bulb in it to soften the light, and you can use the plastic frame as a template to cut a new one out of fancy paper or cardstock if you don't like the white.
What's the price for the original Ligne Roset light? I think the fact that I can't track down the price anywhere is an indication that I'll have to sell my firstborn child to afford it... so, for now, I'm sticking with IKEA.
Call Ligne Roset for the price.
Ligne Roset (and other similar lines) never list their prices online. There are sales a couple of times a year that make the pieces far more affordable. (the IKEA light is very flimsy; I know because we have one. Can't recommend it.)
A similar style lamp with a price between IKEA and Ligne Roset is the Contra-Perno floor lamp from Room and Board. It's a good quality lamp. It currently lists for $459, but you might get lucky and find one on Craigslist. I found a nice R&B lamp at an estate sale for $40.

I have this lamp from IKEA, I replaced the shade and it looks alright. It's in my living room, so I obviously don't hate it that much ;)
