Hello AT, I am looking for a 9x12 ft (approx.) contemporary area rug in shades of steel grey (dark grey or light black)- possibly a Tibetan. So far all I've come up with are made-to-order carpets which are pricey and unpredictable. Any suggestions? Thanks, Marianne

Dear Marianne, You want to look at a rug before you buy it, so if you are in NYC, here's the three stores we would look at: Dolma: on Lafayette Street is the best for the price point. The pic above is from Dolma. Teh Bubbles Rug: We love this simple rug from C&B, but it's only an 8x10 Room & Board: has a wide selection of good, contemporary patterns. Tibet Carpet: is just down the street from us and looks like it has nice patterns and NOT designer prices. Worth a look.
