Hello AT,
I used to have a retractable, wall-mounted clothes-drying rack with towel bar (white plastic and chrome, perfect for maximizing laundry room space) made by a German company called Halo (I think).
Have been told by the catalogue where I got it that the item is no longer available. Do you know of any comparable item? Am desperate for a place to drip dry fine washables.
Thanks for any advice, Nicole

i live in germany, I'll keep my eyes open.
I've seen these at either Container Store or Target. Can't remember which one.
Ikea makes one that hooks over a door, made of metal tubing. It folds down when not in use.
It's the good-looking cousin of the one pictured...
Similar item is available at the Container store.

I think AT has mentioned this before. They've got a selection of wooden drying racks, some wall mounted, at www.lehmans.com:
http://www.lehmans.com/shopping/search/searchresultsmain.jsp?fresh=1&searchType=advanced&iMainCat=0&iSubCat=0&attribute14=0&attribute15=0&attribute16=0&RS=1&keyword=drying+rack
There's also the Wall Shelf Drying Rack at www.gaiam.com:
http://www.gaiam.com/retail/product.asp?catalog%5Fname=gai&category%5Fname=l3%5FLaundryHousehold&product%5Fid=10%2D0023
And if you sign up to receive Gaiam e-mails and then wait a day, you should have a bunch of discount offers in your mailbox. They're advertising discounts (20% off, free shipping, etc.) like crazy this holiday season!
Best of luck!
I've started a small, managable collection of hand-washables-- but being a guy, I've really not wanted (or needed) a drying rack because most of my delicates are shirts (white). I wouldn't dare wash them in the washer, and rather than take them the cleaners ALL the time, I use these: http://www.organize-everything.com/drinhasetof2.html
They're great! -- John
You can find this at nature dry on the web. www.naturedry.com. They have a full assortment of German drying racks...I have been planning for awhile on getting a standing one...
I got a great one at Ikea
I am looking for a clothes drying rack that goes over the door and gives several lengths of line to dry clothes. any ideas. My sister in London had one. I live in the usa.
If you haven't found one yet, there is a distributor in Canada, Stenic Products, Inc. Their website is www.stenicproducts.com Contact person is Michael Basman. I discovered this company through the Swiss manufacturer, Stewi. The product is called Teleskop Prestige. I love mine! Left one in my old house and purchased the newer model with cover flap, a great feature, when we moved. Mistreatment broke front bar and I found your question while searching to order a new one. Teri

I'm a student at Pomona College in Claremont, California and recently spent a good amount of time looking into the various clothesline and drying rack options since Pomona is going to purchase some for student use and I wanted to get the best available racks for us.
In my research, I was shocked to find that there is NO good website explaining all the different clotheslines and drying rack options, so I made my own! It's a wiki page on the Tip the Planet sustainable living wiki that ANYONE CAN EDIT. You can check it out here: http://www.tiptheplanet.com/index.php?title=Air_dry_washing
I'm trying to spread the word so that the site becomes a clearing house for drying rack information, and people have to spend less time scouring the web for the best products. Have a look, share it with your friends, and by all means add your wisdom!
Take care,
Chelsea
