It may be but I don't think so. What's really important is the amount of natural light in the space. If there is a sufficient amount, i.e. a lot, then I think it will be great.

Looks like you've got some white as an accent - could you do the same chairs in white to lighten the room up?

I personally think it would match too much. Do you like dark wood? I think that would really set it off and add a lot of warmth which would be a great addition to your palette. I also like white, but then again it is the kitchen....

Unless the greens are exactly the same - I think it might look like a little too much. I agree with cakekick that white stools might be a better option.

I think that using a stool in a contrasting color such as a white or a warm brown color would work. Do they offer the barstools maybe in a bent plywood? A darker stain would make a nice contrast.

I vote for the lime green stools. Seems too good an opportunity to pass up, and that's a seriously happy color.

But the chairs look yellower, the walls bluer... but may just be the pics. The key is to nail the color. Not to say the walls can't be slightly lighter, but they need to be derived from exactly the same green.

And, in a small space, repetition of colors, and toned-down contrast, are your friends.

Plus, darker wood with that butcher block top would be a big mistake (imho).

lime green chairs, yes!

It looks like a narrow space, right? I think it would work - even out the tones. If you want the chairs to be a focal point, then go with a contrasting tone or colour, but if you want the wood block to shine, I'd go with the green. And yes, make sure that is in the same tonal range as the paint (or repaint to match the chairs, which is much easier).

What about a chrome stool to complement the legs of the butcher block? You could play with upholstery to offset or reflect the green of the walls, or keep it neutral... perhaps change it up later if you want to look at new colour schemes, meaning a guilt-free purchase of a higher-end design if you like. Backless stools could sit under the block as well, meaning you have more space when nobody's sitting on them. Plus there's nothing like a swiveling stool to bring out the inner child!

I'd get the chairs and match the walls to them if necessary. In that space you aren't going to be sorry if it looks smoother and more cohesive and that isn't a bland beige way to do that, so I like it.

Too much. Go with a softer, neutral color palette. Or a nice warm, latte, brown color.

I vote no on the lime green chairs. Although I do like the chairs, but in a different color to contrast more against the walls. I'd either go white (or off-white), or pick a color that you're using elsewhere in the room.

I have blue walls and a blue couch that is almost the same color... and everyday I feel like the walls need to be painted a neutral. It's just too much of the same color and makes the couch less interesting than it is.
