I love Jack's tiny apartment in NY House Tour: Jack Makes Micro Changes. Can you tell me where Jack purchased the wall organizer from? I love it!!!! Thank you, Rhonda
This one is easy: it's the Utensilo by Dorothee Becker-Maurer (Ingo Maurer's wife). We've also seen them referred to as Wall All's. Originally released in 1969, licensed reproductions are available through Vitra.
Because it is made from plastic, originals are often very brittle. The best deal we found with a quick search of our favorite resources was Highbrow Furniture where the large model is $395 (smaller version is $325). UnicaHome also carries a limited edition chrome version for $865.
Does anyone know of a similar but less expensive product?

I'm pretty sure Ikea has a version.
Vitra design, available at unica home:

The Ikea one can be assembled with various items from the SPONTAN collection. But I think you're limited to black and silver.

Also on ebay, but I'm sure you can get it much cheaper than this one:

I searched ingo maurer and it's the first thing that came up.

I know Debbie Travis made one on one of her shows a few years ago. I remember it was made out of recycled tins and a metal sheet so it was magnetic too
I actually found a vintage one at a local thrift shop for a dollar. I found though that it didn't provide the storage it promised. And it is very brittle. Just be careful removing rigid objects like pencils, pens, brushes, etc...unless you're at the proper angle, you might end up cracking the pocket.
At $423? Wow, I'm usually up to paying good money for something I really love, but I don't know... that seems excessive.
Looks eerily similar to what this girl did:

IkeaHacker is a mixed bag, but there are some genius entries on there.

All I can think of when I see that is that those cups would have dust pooling in the bottom of them and would be annoying to clean. ;-)
