Dear AT, This is a two-part question. The kitchen is painted a burnt pumpkin. The cabinets and flooring are a light honey maple. The kitchen table is a light oak (almost the same color as the maple floors/cabinets.) Hubby says there is no point purchasing a new table while the kids are still in the major destruction phase of life (boys - ages 2,6 and 8.) That makes sense...but the cabinets/floor/table all seem to blend together into blah...

Should I stain the table dark chocolate, to match the window treatments and hardware...or leave it? We also need new chairs for the table - so another option would be to leave the table as is and purchase some brown leather chairs. Thoughts???? (PS. Try to ignore the green counters...we do.)
Finally, should I paint the breakfast nook area the same pumpkin color? If I do, won't the panels on the slider be lost - since they are precisely the same color? The off-white color it is now carries into the family room, which it opens in to. What do you think, AT readers?? Thanks, Wistroms
