Q: I have been looking for a pendant light or light of any kind really, that has some sort of gold metallic inside to the shade. I really like this design by Nir Meiri, but they aren't in production. I feel like I've seen a single pendant lamp with gold on the inside, but I can't seem to locate it again. Help!? Thank you!

Editor: While I know they exist, I would also encourage spray painting the inside of a lampshade or inexpensive pendant as a possible solution — but before that, can anyone suggest a pendant lamp with a gold interior?

would it be possible to make something very similar to this light using the instructions for the ReadyMade bubble light, but substituting the gold interior boxes (spray paint?) for the bubbles? Might be worth looking into -- the ReadyMade instructions didn't look difficult.
You mean something like this?

It looks like simple food containers spray painted with a black outside and gold leaf or even a gold spray on the inside. black wires. I bet you can do it for a low cost.
Keep an eye out at your super market for food containers with a great design.
Isn't spray paint flammable in a lighting fixture? Does anyone know what wattage you can safely use with a shade that's been spray painted on the inside?
Why not consider ordering a custom black/gold-lined lampshade in the size and shape you want, wiring it to hang from the ceiling - and using a decorative/reflector bulb inside?

I remember seeing this on TV once, if i am not wrong, u get fire retardant spray, which u can probably spray over once u get it painted gold.
Hi Lisa (Montreal). that was my exact concern about the DIY approach. i don't want to create something that could be flammable.
Brookebrown, thats a little different than i envisioned but gorgeous. i'm going to consider it!
the pendant lamp i saw was almost like a ceramic geodesic dome with metallic on the inside. so it was kind of faceted into a sphere shape. its a wild goose chase i know! thanks for your help everyone.
Note sure if this was what you were thinking of...but it is a pre-made lamp with gold interior. Tom Dixon. . . . http://www.tomdixon.net/en/products.html?Gid=18
I was going to suggest the same thing...

TOM DIXON BEAT LIGHTS. They are stunning. The only thing is they are strictly down lighting and I have used them on an installation where I used lighting above and side lighting to light the top of the Tom Dixon lights. Beautiful!
DO NOT SPRAY PAINT THE INSIDE SHADE OF LIGHT FIXTURES...i made this mistake when doing a diy at 19... the paint instantly bubbled and pealed, I then stopped using the fixture to prevent anything worse from occurring.
