I agree with the round part however I have a 60" round Eames table with a walnut top that looks awesome with the black chairs. I think at the 60" size you can no longer get the wood veneer around the edges so mine has black vinyl trim around the edges that actually helps tie it all together. With the 60" i can fit 6 chairs comfortably (pushed in/put away) but can squeeze in another two for larger dinners when pulled out.

In hindsight I wish I would have gone with one of the wood tones for the chairs as I have gotten scratches on them from metal bits on guest's belts.

I would probably have gone for a set of three rod hairpin table legs in stainless from www.ianmaclean.com/ with a black table top to match the chairs.

whatever you do don't go with a black top table. depending what your interior is, expecially if your space it is light, it will be black hole in the middle of the dining room. Go with a glass top if you want the chairs to show off.

Great chairs! I have 4 of the DCW chairs and had the same decision to make.

I ended up going with a great farm table make of reclaimed wood (very rustic and beat up). It's a great contrast to the chairs. These are available in NYC through Olde Goode Things, they have available tables in their store but will also make custom sizes for you and they are not crazy prices. I found my table and had it in my apt in 3 days!

Karlherr, that's the exact table my parents had with their DCM chairs in walnut. (My sister now has the table and chairs.) And I agree - the entire set-up is beautiful.

I have these chairs in walnut and used them around my LC6 table. I loved the look of this combo and having a glass top is nice to see the chairs as Jeffnyc pointed out.

Unfortunately the family brook up because I have no room for a formal dining area. The LC6 is now being used as a desk and all but one eames chair are in storage.

I have had this table for 20 years and I still love it as much as the day I bought it.

Can't think of a round glass table off hand unless custom which is easy.
I think you would want a pedestal table otherwise it gets too leggy.

I've been pining for a carera marble top table. Your chairs would look good with that. Check out Room and Board - you can build your own table from a variety of types of wood, stone, glass, and leg finishes.

First choice would be a white Saarinen table. Classic. Goes with everything and anything.

I vote for the White Saarinen, too. The simple, uncluttered base would go well with the chrome legs of the Eames DCMs.
