Q: I've been looking for a rug with gray and brown swirls. Does anyone know where I could get a rug like this? I was looking for decorating ideas from a real estate website and came across this rug in an apartment in Chelsea. Please help.Thanks.

Editor: I instantly recognized this rug as one of Paul Smith's popular designs for The Rug Company — available in 4 colorways: Swirl, Brown Swirl, Pale Swirl and Paris Swirl, this design is made up of Nepalese wool or a blend of Nepalese wool and silk (depending on color) and is either $95 or $125 per square foot. It can be purchased at The Rug Company store in SoHo.
If the Rug Company is too expensive, similar (but far simpler) designs can be found for less — who has suggestions for alternatives for Elana?

I also immediately thought of the Swirl rug from The Rug Company. I've seen these in person, they are amazing! They are a wool-silk blend which makes them very soft to the touch. At $95 per sq foot (you can custom order the size) they are quite pricey but the price really reflects the quality.
Beautiful rug. I'm thinking aboutt the rainbow colored version for a kid's room.
I'm sure someone in the AT community will be able to find an exact match, but this might be good second choice:

I found this one on the rugsdirect site:

Not too different. And they had a ton more choices.
CB2 has something somewhat similar: http://www.cb2.com/family.aspx?c=170&f=5139
