Q: Hi there, I was hoping someone at Apartment Therapy would be able to help me identify the bear print in this photo. It looks so familiar, but I can't place it. Please help?

Hmmm i'm afriad it's a window
Run for cover!
No idea...
Where is that bedspread and pillow cover from?? I love it! I so want to snuggle up and take a nap in there....
I feel like it's from a movie. It looks familiar to me as well.
Not sure, but as an artist who specializes in drawings / pen and ink, I can recreate something similar for you if you're interested! :)
looks like himi kozue's paintings
though i'm not sure

It reminds me of this work on Etsy. http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=33157043 Something I have marked as a fav, but don't know anything else about.
I'd love to know about that bedspread, too.
Maybe a Barry Moser wood engraving? Here is a lion:

He has done lots of animals.
It reminds me of a cover from Philip Pullman's The Golden Compass:

The bear has the same quizzical look.
Love it!!! Cute and modern. I also love the Snuffleupagus bedspread and pillow shams! Any info on these?
It looks like a better version of Boog the bear from Open Season.
I don't know the artist, but the room is by Wary Meyers - perhaps you could drop them a line?

Lemonade Sandwich, thank you!!! i followed your link a & checked out this artist, and i LOVE her work!! its cute without being too childish/girly/obnoxious :)
The bedspread looks like a traditional "guber" or "kitenik" from the Balkans. It's made of wool and similar to a flokati rug though the pile is shorter.
Melanie, I think this is your bear:

I think catspajamas may be correct, although the page linked to doesn't represent it well. I, too, am confident that I've this before, and on a regular basis. Was it in a movie? On a TV show? In the home a friend whose parents were into high end scandanavian design back in the 50s? I'm certain that all the other "duh, maybe its X" are quite wrong. Now wHere is it that we've seen it before....
I've seen it, too. It's very familiar. This is going to drive us all crazy.
Lemonade Sandwich, I have that print! It's framed and hanging in my hallway, in amongst a gallery of family photographs. I love that bear.
Going back a little from the link posted by catspajamas, you can see it's labeled as a drawing by Jonathan Meader (http://www.jmeader.com/drawings/index.html). He seems to have received several grants/awards and had shows around the world, so maybe the bear made its rounds that way? The drawing of the actual bear is definitely the same as in the photo - just the placement is off a little, so I don't know.
Hello, i have a similar beadspread i can say it is the same. And i am thinking to sell it. It is antique 50 years old and in perfect condition. Not used only stayed in a closed. Let me know if you are interesting.
