Q: My husband and I are in the market for a new king-sized bed. I saved this image awhile ago as an example of our dream bed. I thought it was from Room & Board, but don't see it on their website. Anyway, do you or or readers know where I can find the bed and table in the picture? Any help would be greatly appreciated! All the best.

Editor: This image looks like it came from Room & Board — they update their product offerings every year and I imagine this is a discontinued style (though the Grove bed is a similar style bed). Who can suggest similar king size beds for Erin?

That is a Room and Board bed (was it Lenox?), but I know for certain it's been discontinued.
You should check West Elm. They have great/similar stuff.
I have the night stands -- Lowry, in case you find them on eBay or Craigslist.
The Calvin bed at Room and Board is very similar to this one.
This is not for the budget-minded, but hivemodern.com has at least one similar bed (link below). Also, DWR has some great modern beds. I bought the min bed last year and love the look.

I also *loved* that bed and am super bummed to hear its discontinued. I had hoped to buy it one day. Guess I'll save that image you posted for the future to have it custom built. Could it be that someone will design a bed better than that? It's such simple perfection.

In all seriousness though, I can't really help you. Its a beautiful set, but I'd rather a vintage set rather than a copy. However a vintage king size bed is next to impossible to find, so maybe someone else could help. Good luck though.
This looks really similar to Ikea's Malm bed except it has legs which the Malm does not. I know most people don't like Ikea furniture (& consider it to not even be furniture), but for the budget-minded or people just starting out, it's great.

It is the Lowry bed. And yes, unfortunately, it's discontinued. I have the queen in walnut.

I bought this Room & Board bed (Lowery Bed in Walnut) back in February 2009. I saw it in their 2008 catalog and called to order. I was informed it was discontinued for 2009, however the rep checked to see if they could find one for me. They did!
I've order many pieces from R&B, and I must say that their customer service is the best I've ever come across. I wish my health insurance company gave half this service.

It has a look similar to the Atlantico line at De La Espada.
Room & Board is having its annual sale of discontinued merchandise right now. Some is on the web site, but the sale also includes discontinued display pieces at all of the stores. I got a cabinet for less than half price a few years ago. It's worth a call to find out. If any store has it, they ship it to their central warehouse and ship it to you from there. Or, if you live close to a store, they can deliver it from any store to the nearby store and you can pick it up.

This is def room and board. The picture on the wall and the rug are still in stock there (i just saw them on line). If you can't find the bed I would ask to see if it's discontinued. Good luck!
buddyrooster, did you end up buying the Lofgren bed? I was considering it as well and wondering what the walnut color was like in person. It appears rather light on the website.
