Q: I'm looking for a rolled-arm sofa like the one Sofia Coppola is sitting on in this picture. Does anyone have any leads on where I might find something similar? Thanks.

Editor: The defining characteristic of this sofa is the rolled English arms. A very traditional shape, a version can be found at both Restoration Hardware (English Roll Arm Collection) and Williams-Sonoma Home (Bedford Loveseat). Who has other suggestions for sources for English Arm sofas?

Dia, if you want a cheaper version, I have a great one that has higher arms, but really beautiful shape. It doesn't fit all that well in my home any more. http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/ny/good-questions/updating-a-classic-sofa-good-questions-095733
Rowe makes one too. I think it's called the Caldwell. This fabric is not really my style, but it's what's shown on the website. Of course you can pick other upholstery.

I've been looking for the same sofa and two additional options are:
Restoration Hardware
SofaCraft.org
I should have added that I've been discarding all the standard resources because I couldn't get one small enough for my home. Many of these English Rolled Arm sofas only come in 85/90" lengths (and quite frankly I'd have to vacate my home just to accommodate a sofa that size!). Both RH and SofaCraft offered sizes small enough to fit my living room.
The two best in traditional English-style furniture are George Sherlock, and George Smith.
George Sherlock came first (by about 20 years) and is in the UK (yes, they ship, and no, shipping does not cost as much as you are afraid it does):

or the 3 seater version:

And here is George Smith, who is in the U.S. (and he too comes in 2 and 3 seater, and different lengths and widths):

These are solid, well-made sofas designed to last a lifetime, and so yes, they are more expensive then Restoration Hardware, or Hickory.
FYI George Smith are having a sale from 16-23 of this month, which is a good thing, since their sofas are about 2-4 times as much as the chain stores like Restoration Hardware.
Funny, I was considering this arm for our new custom sofa. Basset does this style, which they seem to call "Charles of London". You can pick everything from the general scale/size and length of the sofa to the cushion type, arms, legs, etc. Pretty cool.
You can build on online (you'll see the arm selection on Step 3): http://www.bassettfurniture.com/tools/custom-upholstery/step1.asp
I can speak to their quality or service, just something I noticed at the showroom last weekend.
That Bassett sofa builder is totally fun.
Lee Industries has many different versions of this style at a fraction of the price of something from George Smith. Some tight-back, some with cushions, some apartment-sized, etc.
The model 3278-32 is probably most similar to the pictured sofa, but not quite as rounded on the front corners.

I can have this sofa made for you at any size.
I design custom furniture for private clients and retail stores. I have this style in my catalog and could meet you in your home to discuss dimensions and fabrics.
The price, depending on the details, will probably be comparable to a Lee Sofa.

Ethan Allen has English Arm sofas, too.
This is the only style sofa for me: tight back with English roll arms. I'm sitting on one in dire need of reupholstering - thankfully, I'm about to get an almost new one as a hand-me-down!
This looks similar and is on sale:

Also, as mentioned by ilima, Lee Industries. If you have not heard of them...you can custom order any of their sofas at Crate & Barrel stores, which also carry selected styles each season and many of their fabrics. Good luck!
thanks for all your tips.
someone suggested this may be Conran Shop's Oswald sofa, thanks again!
When I worked for a furniture store a couple years ago, I purchased a rolled arm sofa style like this made by a company called Lee Industries. (www.leeindustries.com) They used to (and still may) manufacture a lot of the sofas sold through Restoration Hardware. One of the things I liked about the company is that you can customize their sofas by choosing the number and type of cushions, or you can order the sofa upholstered or with a fitted slipcover. The company keeps archives of their slipcover patterns so, even if the sofa style is ever discontinued, you will always be able to order a slipcover if you want to. They also now tout that they manufacture "earth friendly" upholstery, although I'm not sure of all the specifics. Hope this helps and good luck!
I'd love to have this one too, but ... probably a bit out of my price range ;)
We make one in a cushion back or tight backed configuration.

They look great in Army Duck, In Velvet or in Linen.
