Deborah is looking for some suggestions: I'm looking for hardwired sconces for my five-month-old daughter's bedroom and am having no luck: everything seems too serious or too fussy/romantic or *too* childish. I'm looking for something clean and maybe whimsical, and I love Jonathan Adler's giraffe sconces...

The JA sconces (above, left) are now 25% off at most places, which makes them tempting, but they're HUGE and would overwhelm the small room. I also love the Perch ones (above, right),
but $240 is beyond our budget. Any other ideas?
Please share your suggestions for sconces with Deborah...thanks!

I like these sconces for fun color, if you're into orange, red, blue, green or ecru:

I just came from my friend's house and she had this MINNEN lamp from IKEA that I really liked. It doesn't look cheap in person even though it only costs $8. It comes in white, red, or blue, and provides good light, and has a little removable spider web over the bulb to keep kids' fingers safe and keep the bulb from breaking. You could have it altered to make it hard wired.

I'm not sure how these would look on the wall, but they come in green and white and pink and white striped and are on clearance at Pottery Barn Kids for $9.99. Worth a look.

Have you thought about getting the JA giraffe lamp for the room?
