Q: I love my mobile home here in NH, but the layout begs for some creative color and continuity ideas. Here are some details below with photos. Am hoping that your creative readers can suggest some much needed color continuity and furnishing ideas for my adjoining rooms layout. Thank you!

My mobile home is 14'x72' - it's on a nice lot with flowered gardens and greens here in NH, but deciding on interior paint colors that would flow nicely from the kitchen, living room and hallway is a challenge. These are the immediate spaces you step into from the entrance.

The kitchen bay window faces south; adjoining living room has one window on opposite walls facing east and west, which makes for plenty of different-time-of-day lighting.

Kitchen is currently painted Palm Desert Tan (too brown). The vinyl floor is a faux tile marbled look with rust, soft orange, sand and grey colors. Cabinets are Medium White paint.

I like the multi-colored living room rug as a palette for different accent color choices. Furniture consists of sage-colored sofa and chair. There's also a faux mantle in the corner that can stay or go. If it stays, I'd need to paint that to tie-in with the wall colors as well. The living room also leads down a dark narrow hallway.

The kitchen currently has a country theme, whereas I'm leaning towards casual contemporary for the living room. Don't know if these themes are too drastic given their physical connection.

Any and all suggestions in tying these rooms together are greatly appreciated!
