Katy is looking for some color ideas: My daughter outgrew her crib, so we made a trip to IKEA and purchased a number of new pieces. Once we got everything put together and set up, I decided I didn't like the way her light green walls looked with the new things. I am stuck! Do you or your readers have any suggestions for paint color ideas? (Note: Include a pic of your problem and your question gets posted first.

I'd pull the blue out of the rug...
A dusty, light lavender would look beautiful with the green.
I agree - pull one of the colors out of the rug. You can do a bright wall since the furniture colors are so neutral. I'd go for orange, but your daughter might want something a little more girly. Robins egg blue would look lovely with the green.
I'm with squirrelgirlie. I'm drawn to the orange of the little mouse's pants on the rug. Red would work, I see it in the bedding as well as the rug. And a lovely, pale blue would work wonders. Would give sort of a grass and sky feel. Permanent spring.
I agree with pulling the blue out of the rug. It would look lovely and fresh.
I would go with the orange also. Girls can like orange too! I think a really rich tangerine would be awesome.
Ditto on the blue - as much as I love orange, I can't behind an orange bedroom because I'd be too wound up to sleep in it. That blue in the rugs and sheets is soft, soothing and cool.
We have this rug, and have a pretty purple-y periwinkle on the wall - blue would have been nice too. I like the idea of the orange - it's a refreshing color in a kids room.
I would do a light blue with some red accents around the room to make the rug and bedding pop
I'd do the robin's egg blue in the rug, or perhaps a summery yellow.
i like this room with a similar bed.

but the walls aren't really a color.
if you definitely want a color, i'm in favor of a light blue.
Grey? We have warm grey walls and similar shades of blue and green look fantastic against them.
I'm with the peopel who think that robin's egg blue would look nice!
I would go with the blue on the walls and I would paint those door panels on the amoire/closet piece the red from the bedding and rug.
It would also be fun if you painted the BACK board in the cubby shelves orange (you should be able to remove the back, paint it, then screw it back on).
Don't forget to add color with a window treatment too. Stripes would be really fun. ;)
What color is the child's eyes? Paint at least one wall the same color as her eyes. We all deserve to be in a room that is flattering to our eyes and complexion.
thanks everyone! I will let you know what we go with!
