Good Questions: Driving to the Home Design Show Next Month?

I have been trying to find driving directions to the Architectural Digest Home Design Show at Pier 94 - 11th Avenue and 55th Street, NY. Without success. Directions show that the site is in Brooklyn or no where near the water. Can you please help. I will be visiting friends in Yonkers, NY and we will leave from their home.

Dear Corenda,

Thanks for the tip on the show (March 9-12). As for driving directions, DON'T go to Brooklyn! Go to the West side of Manhattan at 55th street. We would go to google.com/maps and put in these words: "pier 94, 55th street and 11th ave, nyc." You will get a nice map and directions.

However, parking could be a problem. Anyone have advice on this?

Lots of area paid parking lots around the Piers (between the piers and the theater district).

Take Metro-North in and then the subway to Penn Station or Columbus Circle and hoof it from there.

Much quicker than driving in and trying to find parking.

And cheaper too.

Train is your easiest option, but if you want to drive, have your friends in Yonkers direct you to the Saw Mill Parkway/Henry Hudson Parkway which feeds directly into the West Side Highway. When the highway ends descends onto the the streets of the city, you are at the piers -- and there is parking on the piers -- very hard to miss!

Parking is available on the rooftops of the adjacent Piers 88, 90 and 92.

Exit the Westside Highway at 55th Street and take the ramp to "Parking". From there, you can easily walk to Pier 94 and the Show.
