Good Questions: Tubed Steel Chair Legs?

Dear AT,

Does anyone know where I might get the "legs" shown on this DWR chair? I have a very similar chair with wooden legs that I want to replace with tubed steel. It need not glide like the DWR chair does -- mainly I am looking for the shape and height. Thanks for your help!

First thing that popped into my mind... EQ3 has similar legs on the section chairs of their Replay Collection.

If you take it to an upholsterer, they should be able to switch out your legs. I'm afraid that pieces like the tubes you are looking for (correct dimensions, function, stability) would only be available to the trade.

maybe ask dwr who the manufacturer is and contact them directly? i actually have the chair at home (in the taupe upholstery) and will try looking this evening...

If the manufacturer never made the chair with metal legs then your best option is to go custom. A local metal fabricator should be able to make legs to your exact specification fairly quickly. Call a couple local welding shops and see what they can do.

I bought a circa 1930's psychiatrist bench and re-upholstered it myself. I wanted to find more modern legs for it. I did online searches until i finally found Chrome legs available on ebay. I've found quite a few resources. Ferroushardware.com produces furniture hardware. you may wanna contact them and see if it's something they can make for you.
